Downtown Midland is looking for great chili and salsa chefs to participate in the 18th Annual Chili & Salsa TASTE-OFF on September 24th from noon to 3 p.m. in Downtown Midland!!

Enclosed you will find the registration form. There is NO FEE to participate; however, we do ask that you bring a minimum of five (5) gallons of your famous chili or five (5) gallons of your best tasting salsa for the tasting event! Your creations must be prepared in a licensed kitchen (we have kitchens you can use free of charge) and brought to the H Hotel the night before the event in approved containers (we supply the containers free of charge). Only ONE entry per chef please!

On the day of the event you will set up at your assigned table on Main Street and serve ticket holders your chili/salsa from noon until 3 p.m. You will need a crock pot for your chili or an ice bath for your salsa. We will provide the 1 oz serving cups, ladles, ice, and salsa chips for you. You are encouraged to decorate your table in a fun theme and bring a friend to help serve your chili/salsa. You will receive two free tickets so that you can also participate in the tasting! Please bring enough helpers to ensure that your table is attended at all times.

People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice Winners in the following categories:

  • Chili: best spicy, best mild, best non-traditional, best overall
  • Salsa: best spicy, best mild, best non-traditional, best overall
  • Best table display
